Aluminum Dome Roof
Clear-span, self-supporting and corrosion-free - no internal columns and no shell or foundation reinforcement.
A clear-span aluminium geodesic dome roof installed on an above-ground storage tank. Built from extruded aluminium alloy structural members and aluminium panels, it is fully self-supporting - no internal columns and no reinforcement of the tank shell or foundation - and is designed to API 650 Appendix G for the specified wind and snow loads. It is typically combined with an internal floating roof to create a two-layer emission-control system, and can be supplied for diameters from small tanks up to very large clear spans.
Advantage:
1. Eliminates rainwater ingress and the risk of a roof sinking under accumulated rain or snow.
2. Drastically reduces vapour loss and, combined with an internal floating roof, gives the highest level of emission control available.
3. All-aluminium construction is corrosion-free and virtually maintenance-free.
4. Lightweight, so it imposes minimal additional load on existing tank shells and foundations.
5. Can be installed on existing external floating roof tanks and can replace a corroded steel roof.
6. Protects the floating roof and its seals from UV radiation and weather, and on many tanks makes hose or pipe drains obsolete.
7. Supplied complete with access hatches, walkways, vents and other accessories, and can be delivered in a wide range of diameters.
