Emergency Vent Cover

A large-area emergency relief device fitted to a tank roof. If the tank is exposed to external fire or an abnormal pressure rise, the cover lifts - or a gasketed panel ruptures open - to vent the tank at a much higher capacity than the normal breather valve, preventing catastrophic shell or roof failure. The cover reseats automatically once the pressure event has passed.

Advantage:
1. Provides emergency relief capacity far above that of the normal breather valve, protecting the tank under fire exposure.
2. Opens automatically and requires no power or operator action.
3. Reseats by itself after the pressure event, so normal operation can continue without intervention.
4. Gasketed construction keeps the opening vapour-tight in normal service.
5. Low maintenance, with pallets and gaskets replaceable in service.
6. Sized in accordance with API 2000 and API 650 emergency-venting requirements.
