Leg Sock / Leg Boot

A fabric boot or sock fitted over the floating roof support leg where it passes through the deck. It seals the annular clearance between the leg and the leg sleeve in the deck, preventing vapour from escaping through the leg openings. It is made from the same reinforced, hydrocarbon-resistant fabric as the gauge pole sleeve and is secured with a leg pin or clamp; a mechanical support is retained so the leg still carries the roof load correctly.

Advantage:
1. Seals the remaining vapour leakage paths around every roof support leg.
2. The flexible fabric accommodates leg-to-deck movement and roof tilt without cracking.
3. High-strength fabric with a secure leg-pin fixing; resistant to hydrocarbons, ozone and UV.
4. Individual boots can be replaced in service without taking the tank out of operation.
5. Standard sizes are available for common leg diameters, with custom sizes on request.
6. Low unit cost with a quick payback through reduced product loss.
